Editorial

I am sure that by now, some of you will have received the new catalogues for this season from some of our more popular commercial growers. They never seem to disappoint with the release of new varieties.

Even those of us with small gardens who declare that we couldn’t possibly fit another new plant in -  if he is a gardener worth his grit, he will always find room for one more.

My ultimate dream is to just write across the top of the order form “Just send me the lot !!!”. I’m sure I would do my best to find a home for them all.

Iris Show & Convention

We really need all members who have blooms, either in flower, or in bud, to donate as many as possible for the floral displays at this years convention. All blooms need to be brought to The Shores by 9:00am on the Friday of October 28th.

Iris Sales

All members wishing to sell rhizomes, either on the club table or the commission table at this years show, please ensure that all rhizomes are trimmed, labelled correctly and have all soil washed from their roots. If you are presenting potted Iris for sale, please ensure that they are planted in potting mix and not garden soil. We really need members to be as generous as possible in donating rhizomes for the club table. This is always a great source of revenue for the club and Ronda Burg, who always does such an excellent job organising our club table, deserves and needs all of the members support. PLEASE DIG DEEP.

All biscuits to be donated must be delivered to Natalie no later than our Octber monthly meeting on  the 13th.
