SOUTH AUSTRALIAN IRIS SOCIETY Inc.

Editorial

The fine autumn weather is here and it’s lovely for gardening.  Now is the time to do your final shift around for next season’s iris blooms.  When you dig your irises please keep in mind the plants the society needs for planting in Hahndorf and the City of Adelaide.  Information is in these minutes.

 Australia Day awards

On Australia Day one of our founding members and our newest member were both honored with awards for service to the community.  Harold Lane received the South Australian Citizen of the Year award for his service to the people of Balaklava and district and the Medical profession in SA.  Gary Roberts from Victor Harbor received the Victor Harbor Citizen of the Year award for his service to the Historical Society, Camera Club, Heritage Committee, Encounter Bay Football Club and Back Valley Table tennis club.  Congratulations from all members.

Memberships are now due.  Membership fees must be paid by the May meeting or your membership will lapse and you will not receive any newsletters.
